Fair Chance Welcomes its New Executive Director
Dear Fair Chance Friends and Supporters,
On behalf of Fair Chance’s Board of Directors, I am excited to announce the selection of Maria Nagorski as our next executive director. After a rigorous hiring process facilitated by an Executive Transition Consultant, Managance Consulting, both the Board of Directors and staff are happy to welcome Maria to the Fair Chance team! Maria brings a great combination of experience in nonprofit management and leadership, capacity-building, and youth and community development. Maria will lead Fair Chance into its sixth year of serving community-based nonprofits through capacity building partnerships!

As an experienced and passionate advocate of social justice and community development through nonprofit leadership for many years, I know how important the work of Fair Chance is to the lives of children and youth in our DC community. I will focus my energy and passion into building on the successes and accomplishments of Fair Chance to further empower organizations and partners to change, grow and help children succeed," said Maria.
I am confident that Maria will be a great fit as our Executive Director because she will bring the right blend of both organizational leadership and capacity building know-how to Fair Chance. Maria’s 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and training at local, national and international organizations positions her well to lead Fair Chance.
Maria comes to Fair Chance after nearly ten years as an Independent Consultant designing and leading capacity building, leadership development, strategic planning, board development, advocacy and outreach for nonprofit organizations in the US and abroad. She was also the founding director and executive director of the Center for Youth as Resources, a national organization focused on engaging youth in service, philanthropy and leadership in their communities. A longtime DC resident, Maria is excited to engage in strengthening the local nonprofit sector to ultimately serve more children, youth and families in the District.
